Formal Recruitment 2025 is an in-person process that will occur in Charlottesville. Therefore, no virtual options will be available.
Below you will find important and helpful information regarding Formal Recruitment. This information is also present at the beginning of the registration form.

Recruitment Eligibility
We are delighted that you have chosen to participate in Spring 2025 Inter-Sorority Council Formal Recruitment at The University of Virginia. In order to participate in recruitment, you must be a female-identifying undergraduate degree-seeking student enrolled full-time (12 credit hours or more) in good standing with The University of Virginia at the time of recruitment in January 2025. Furthermore, in order to be eligible for sorority recruitment, you must register for recruitment online and pay the required registration fee.
All sororities have an individually set minimum GPA of at least 2.0 or higher. While a GPA of 2.0 is not required for participation in recruitment, it is strongly advised.
Online registration for formal recruitment opened on August 26th, 2024 and will close on November 22nd, 2024 at 11:55pm. Late registrations will not be accepted.
Verify that you are registering for the correct recruitment process
Be sure you are selecting the correct recruitment process. Inter-Sorority Council Formal Recruitment is for the 15 National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities currently recognized at The University of Virginia. They are: Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Phi, Chi Omega, Delta Delta Delta, Delta Gamma, Delta Zeta, Gamma Phi Beta, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Delta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Pi Beta Phi, Sigma Kappa, Sigma Sigma Sigma, and Zeta Tau Alpha.
Potential New Member (PNM) Orientations
I agree to attend the PNM Orientation session on Thursday, January 9th, 2025. Failure to attend may result in not being allowed to continue with the Formal Recruitment process. Location for Orientation will be communicated to you at Meet Your Pi Chi Day in December.
Participation and Registration Costs
In order to cover expenses accrued by hosting Formal Recruitment, the Inter-Sorority Council reserves the right to charge registrants to participate. Registration costs are non-refundable. The cost of registration is $55.
Registration must be paid in full via the secure payment link (you will be directed to this after completing the registration form).
Potential New Member Scholarships are available, please contact Emma Hardwick at uvaiscvpf@gmail.com for more information. Applications are due December 22nd, and chosen recipients will recieve $500 towards membership dues.
Review the Inter-Sorority Council Recruitment Regulations
I understand that it is my responsibility to review the recruitment regulations on the University of Virginia Inter-Sorority Council website (http://www.virginiaisc.com/recruitment/recruitment-regulations/) to best understand the rights and responsibilities for Potential New Members (PNMs).
The Inter-Sorority Council also recommends that you follow the University of Virginia Inter-Sorority Council and the University of Virginia Fraternity and Sorority Life office on Instagram for current updates on recruitment (@virginiaisc).

Lost or Stolen Property Disclaimer
The Inter-Sorority Council and chapters are not responsible for any personal property that is lost, stolen, or damaged during the recruitment process. Potential new members are encouraged to use sound judgment and vigilance when carrying personal items during recruitment. If you don't need it, don't bring it.
Academic Record Release
I give authorization for The Office of the Dean of Students | Fraternity & Sorority Life to provide my individual semester grade point and cumulative grade point averages to the president and/or scholarship chair of the 15 sororities participating in the formal recruitment process for the purposes of determining my eligibility as a potential new member.
If I accept a membership bid, I give authorization for The Office of the Dean of Students | Fraternity & Sorority Life to provide my individual semester grade point and cumulative grade point averages to the president and/or scholarship chairperson of my women's fraternity/sorority during the time that I am an active member of the chapter for the purposes of determining the chapter academic trends and my eligibility within the chapter. I also give authorization for The Office of the Dean of Students/Fraternity & Sorority Life to use my semester grade point and cumulative grade point averages in calculating chapter, council, and all Greek averages. I understand that chapter statistics, including individual eligibility data, will be released to the inter/national headquarters and chapter advisor of my women's fraternity/sorority. I understand (1) that such records and information may only be disclosed on the condition that the party to whom the information is disclosed will not redisclose the information to any other party without my written consent unless specifically allowed by law or this release; (2) that I have the right not to consent to this release of my educational records; (3) that I have the right to receive a copy of such records upon my request; and (4) that this consent shall remain in effect until revoked by me, in writing, and delivered to the University of Virginia, Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, but that any such revocation shall not affect disclosures previously made by the University of Virginia prior to the receipt of any such written revocation.
